Audinate Launches Versatile Dante Pro S1 System-on-a-Chip

Compact and power-efficient solution for low channel count Dante audio equipment with scalability for future feature enhancements

SYDNEY, Australia, January 25, 2024 – Audinate Group Limited (ASX:AD8), developer of the professional AV-industry leading Dante® AV-over-IP solution, today announced the Dante Pro S1, a compact and cost-effective system-on-a-chip (SoC) for professional audio and AV equipment manufacturers to integrate industry-leading Dante network functionality in low channel count devices.

Dante Pro S1 represents the latest generation Dante solution from Audinate for OEMs and is designed to meet the evolving security requirements for enterprise Internet-of-Things (IoT), Unified Communications (UC) and advanced audio system implementations.

“We are excited to offer the most compact solution for pro AV manufacturers integrating Dante in their audio equipment,” says Mark Gerrard, Group Product Manager, Audinate. “Dante Pro S1 is ideal for OEMs that need a full-featured and cost-effective implementation for low channel count devices that helps keep development and time-to-market at a minimum.”

The chip solution will be a focus of Audinate’s new innovations and provides a platform for new features such as media encryption. Dante Pro S1 offers an alternative to the Ultimo chip for OEMs building low channel count devices. New designs are encouraged to use Dante Pro S1 as it will provide future features and capabilities that may not be supported by Ultimo-based products.

Small and Power-Efficient Dante-on-a-Chip Solution

Dante Pro S1 is designed for compact and power-efficient audio equipment solutions requiring Dante network interoperability. The chip is a versatile TFBGA100 package (8mm x 8mm) and requires minimal external components to complete system integration. The underlying microcontroller is more power efficient than previous Dante solutions, resulting in low heat dissipation for space-constrained equipment designs.

Dante Pro S1 is offered in multiple package configurations to meet the exacting requirements of OEMs. The configurations announced today support up to 2×2 channels at 96 kHz or up to 4×4 channels at 48 kHz audio encoding.

Reference Design and Evaluation Kit

An evaluation kit is available for equipment manufacturers to prototype system designs using Dante Pro S1. The kit is based on the Dante Pro S1 reference design and includes XLR connectors for analog I/O and swappable network interface modules for a range of PHY and switch ICs. A full suite of technical documentation is also available.

Price and Availability

Dante Pro S1 evaluation kits and samples are available now for qualified OEMs. Dante Pro S1 production units are available to order now with a standard 12-week lead time. Contact your sales representative about pricing information or visit, to learn more about the Pro S1.
