Enjoy a day of celebration on Frank Lloyd Wright’s birthday during our free, all-ages open house event at Taliesin West. Explore Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and desert laboratory with a variety of hands-on activities and demonstrations.
While at Discovery Day you’ll experience:
- Taliesin West’s iconic architecture
- Live music and films
- Hands-on bridge-building activity
- Cyanotype photographic printing workshop
- Local Arizona artisan pop-up shop
- Interactive textile and design demonstration
- Display of Box Projects (original birthday gifts for Frank Lloyd Wright made by apprentices)
- Demonstrations on building conservation science, including material composition and degradation involving wood, finishes, and masonry
- Sale at the Frank Lloyd Wright Store
- Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation members will receive exclusive access to Taliesin West’s Garden Room. Become a member to gain special access on this day.
Discovery Day is not a tour of Taliesin West; it requires walking throughout the historic core. Most activities and stops take place outdoors. Please dress accordingly for hot weather and stone/gravel walking paths.
