Staff Photos: Wildlife Spotted at Taliesin and Taliesin West

Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation | Sep 4, 2019

At Taliesin and Taliesin West, wildlife can be seen everywhere. From bobcats and snakes, to geese and frogs — Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation staff members have captured photos of the animals they’ve encountered for National Wildlife Day.

Employees of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation have the pleasure of working in Taliesin near Spring Green, Wisconsin and Taliesin West in Scottsdale, Arizona, two of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most personal creations. The unique architecture makes for a workplace unlike any other. At the Foundation we are not only stewards of these two National Historic Landmarks and UNESCO World Heritage sites, but we are also stewards of the many acres of land on which these iconic buildings are located. Because of the remote, natural environments where they are each located, staff members often see and encounter a great variety of wildlife on a daily basis. Wright’s organic architecture blends so well with nature that seeing a family of quail scurry by, a flock of geese land in a nearby pond, or a bobcat relaxing under a tree near the campus isn’t out of the ordinary.

For National Wildlife Day, we’re sharing a handful of images taken by Foundation staff at Taliesin and Taliesin West.
