Badge Workshops

The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is thrilled to offer the following Girl Scout badge workshops. During these workshops, girls will complete all necessary steps to earn the listed badge.


 

Daisy Badge Workshop, Shapes in Nature

January 21, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
$25 per scout for nonmembers, $10 per adult chaperone

During this workshop, each girl will follow all the steps necessary to earn the Daisy Shapes in Nature Badge. Girls will search for shapes in the Sonoran Desert that once inspired Frank Lloyd Wright, find and make patterns based on the design of Taliesin West, and make art based using patterns found in nature to take home.

Brownie Badge Workshop: Painting

February 4, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
$25 per scout for nonmembers, $10 per adult chaperone

Girls will look at paintings held in the collection at Frank Lloyd Wright’s home, Taliesin West. They will then get to paint the Sonoran Desert landscape, practice painting a “mood” of their choosing, and then get silly by trying to paint without brushes! Finally, they’ll work with their fellow Brownies to collaborate on a temporary mural for the walls of the Taliesin West classroom.

Brownie, Junior and Cadette Workshop: Earn the Taliesin West Fun Patch!

March 25, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
$25 for nonmembers, $10 per adult chaperone

Earn the Taliesin West Fun Patch! During this workshop, girls will take a tour of Taliesin West and learn about Frank Lloyd Wright and his architectural designs. Then they will get to design their own floor plans and begin work on their own 3D model building to take home! The Taliesin West Fun Patch IS included in the cost of this program and will be given to girls at the end of the workshop. This program is recommended for girls aged 8-14.

Brownie Badge Workshop: Outdoor Art Creator

April 1, 2023, 9:00 am – 12:00 am

$25 per scout, $10 per adult chaperone.

During this workshop, each scout will see a few highlights of Frank Lloyd Wright’s home, Taliesin West. Girls will use their senses in nature, make a special type of nature art print called a cyanotype, create their own wind chime, and design a geometric abstract nature drawing. Each of our activities connects to Frank Lloyd Wright and his love of nature!
